Warren Lawrence

Warren Lawrence

General Manager, Georgia Division

» Back to our team...

Missouri native Warren Lawrence came to Aurora Dairies, DPS' predecessor, in 1994. Raised in the dairy business, Warren has worked his entire life in dairy production. After high school he returned to the family farm, and later took a position as herd manager with Briarpatch Farms, a purebred dairy cattle production and marketing facility in Central Georgia. During his tenure at Briarpatch, Warren was directly responsible for the production operation and overseeing the care and health of some of the most elite Holstein cows in history, including the famed "Ravena" cow, who still holds the record for her impact on the breed as a result of her offspring resulting from embryo transfer with which Warren was also involved. During the years of his employment there, Warren refined his natural skills as a "cow man", and in 1994, he was invited to join the Aurora team.

Accepting his first position with Aurora, Warren became the dairy manager for what is known as Phase II of Aurora's Texas operation. During his tenure there, Warren quickly demonstrated his exceptional skills as a production operator as evidenced by his excellent results in milk production per cow, milk quality, and herd reproductive performance.

Proving his management prowess in his first assignment, Warren was promoted and transferred to Aurora's Georgia operation in 1996 to assume the top management spot for that 3,800-cow freestall facility. Once again, Warren displayed exceptional skills, and produced similar results. In 1998, Progressive Dairies, Inc., purchased the Georgia dairy and Warren elected to remain on staff with the new organization. Only 60 days later, Warren decided that he had made a career error in leaving the Aurora team, and sought another position with Aurora. He was immediately re-employed in Aurora's Florida operations as Dairy Manager, supervising two farms totaling 4,500 cows.

Having previously served as General Manager for both Florida DPS-owned farms, Warren re-located August 1, 2006 to assume General Manager duties for Dairy Production Systems - Georgia Division.

Warren and his wife Myra live in Baconton, GA and have three grown children and three grandsons.
